Welcome to Momentum Dance! Please read the following information before completing the registration form. I am so excited to get another great year of dance underway.
Payment: Tuition for Session I is $105 and is due within 48 hours of registration. This payment includes 12 weeks of classes and a t-shirt. Tuition for Session II is $105 which includes 12 classes and a recital class photo. Recital costumes will require an additional fee; more information will follow. Options for payment include cash, check, card, Venmo (@Katie-Warner-28), or PayPal (MomentumDCS@gmail.com).
Attire: Please send your child to dance class in a leotard and tights (skirts or leggings are fine as long as I can see the dancer's knees) and leather ballet shoes. If your child’s shoes have laces, please tie them in a double knot and tuck them inside the shoes. Hair should be out of the face and not a distraction.
PLEASE be sure that your child uses the bathroom before class-- if someone has to go, usually everyone else has to go too! It would also be helpful for me if your child knows how to take on and off their dance clothing in order to use the restroom. I do not require children to be potty trained but please be aware I will not change diapers during class.
I also ask that your child not bring toys or chew gum.
Purchasing Dancewear: I will be placing two dance wear orders this year, dates TBA in the welcome email. If you are interested in ordering leotards, tights, or ballet shoes please make sure to send me an email with the item name, size and color. If you’d rather purchase them yourself and need suggestions, dancewear and shoes can also be found at any dance shop or most stores (Smith’s, WalMart, ShopKo, Kohl’s, etc.). Payless also sells ballet shoes.
During Class: Each class will involve a warm-up and introduction to ballet technique, as well as creative improvisation based on a particular quality of movement.
Due to limited space and to free the children of distractions, I prefer that parents do not stay during class, but am happy to make accommodations for special situations.
Please do not bring your child to class more than 5 minutes early or pick them up more than 5 minutes late.
Performances: One Parent Day will be held on the last day of Session I, and a recital at the end of Session II.
Schedule: Our dancing schedule corresponds with the school district's schedule. There will be no dance the weeks of UEA, Thanksgiving, one week in February (TBA), and Spring Break. Christmas Break falls between sessions. I also reserve the right to take one personal day in case of any unforeseen reason for me to have to miss dance. In such a (rare) case, a text or email will be sent to notify you and I'll schedule a make-up class.
Correspondence: Most of my correspondence is via email, so please be aware and watch for communication to come that way. I also keep the whiteboard in the studio updated with the most upcoming deadlines. Thank you for your interest in dance! I am excited to be teaching your dancer!
